I don't get this obsession with Jeanne Pratt

The last few days have seen an odd traffic spike day for this quiet blog. What's more, all roads lead to a flippant little post in 2009.

I don't get it.

The mistress of a now deceased millionaire has been in the news and all of a sudden the world wide weird can't get enough of Jeannie Pratt.

So for all of you he keep googling Jeanne Pratt + Plastic Surgery (or just Jeanne Pratt Weird), I give you more evidence for the affirmative.

Yes.

Totally weird.

UPDATE - Thanks librarygirl for sourcing this wonderful "before" photo of Jeanne 52 years ago.

You can almost see her in there.

And one more thing...

...Kathy Griffin - stop now before it's too late!

Melbourne - you’ve made me proud

The rumoured demise of MTR as reported by the Fairfax press, has gladdened my heart and made me proud of my adopted hometown.

The failure of MTR to achieve the ratings success of their Sydney sister station 2GB goes to show that Melbourne folk are more discerning different to Sydneysiders.

The Age article points to a couple of key reasons for the station’s failure to thrive down south. This is due largely to their lack of female voices and opinions, along with their imposition of the Sydney model (based on the style of shock 2GB Alan Jones) without really understanding the Melbourne scene.

I know the Sydney/Melbourne rivalry is done to death but I find MTR’s demise an interesting character study in the media preferences of the two cities. Melbourne certainly has its share of right wing, reactionaries and Liberal voters. Perhaps just not enough to choose a newcomer on the broadcasting band over their entrenched choices.

P.S. Speaking of the erstwhile Mr Jones, even the English know he's a prat.
